Just need to write a little bit every day

It's been cleaning non-stop this morning and packing and preparing for New Mexico this weekend! A first vacation in almost a year. Here's to a fantastic time!

First meetup was at an outdoor park concert, and guess what? It totally poured. Fortunately, people are quick with their phones, and my friend and I salvaged the event with some coffee. Met a couple of nice folks. Looking forward to doing it again! We were so involved in our medical school microcosm, we forgot that really boring things are actually exciting to other people. Who knew?

Personal statement is almost finished. Just need some tweaking on the last paragraph and a proof of my unique characteristics. Then, to ask letter writers. I'm sort of dreading this process, because I feel that I don't know my attendings as well as I want to, but we will and see how it goes. I just need to get the ball moving on that. I find that if I just start, it is actually easier than what I anticipate. Trying to be less of a stick in the mud.

Anyhow, this weekend is to be enjoyed, and I'm looking forward to posting sandia (watermelon) sunsets.

  1. Hey I'm going to New Mexico next month for interview! I have to stay two nights because of flight schedules (unless I can get something worked out) but let me know if there's something interesting to do or check out!!! :D I'm glad your first meet-up went well!

    1. Haha, NM is a strange little town. There's Nob Hill which is akin to Montrose. Probably my favorite place to eat is Jambo Cafe in Santa Fe. There's also the Flying Saucer Cafe in Albuquerque, which had really tasty rosemary chicken and couscous. Other than that, my friend and I shopped a bunch.
