Sometimes you leave, and sometimes you come back
Boy, I forgot about writing until I stumbled upon on an old blog and renewed some memories of laughing so hard I was crying. As I was revisiting posts of my own, I'm happy to say I no longer feel that gloomy anymore. In fact, I'm in a much better place than I was a year ago. Also, that I can stomach reading my past writing, shows some maturity.
Step 1 is over. I achieved a score that I am satisfied with. I have gotten through 4 clerkships and honored the last two. Now, I'm on psychiatry and alas have some time to myself. I actually went on a date last night, which has been the culmination of the wackiest human interactions between male and female. I'm still pondering how that came about, and I really hope that a new friendship can come of this awkwardness. Part of the renewed interest in blogging was from the written conversations between this guy and I, of which have challenged me to be more creative and witty. That's something I consider of a gain. Plus, I need to start sharpening my writing skills for the big personal statement that I am giving myself a deadline of April 4.
I've decided after going through ob/gyn that neurology is where I'm most comfortable at. Give me dementia, strokes, and seizures. I'd take that any day over pregnant ladies. I like them, but not nearly enough to only work with that population plus or minus some gynecology patients. I learned that I liked gynecology a lot, but you can't find a residency which only trains in that field.
I finally feel at peace with myself, and I just want to see it in text.
I also love this photo of Ushio Shinohara after watching Cutie and the Boxer. It's a great documentary depicting the relationship of an artistic couple and their relationship with art.
