Cookie Swap + Asshats + Cilantro Lime Basmati Rice

I just signed up for the The Postcard Project's Cookie Swap  where I'll be baking three dozen cookies to send off to other participants and receive three dozen in return. I don't know what I'll be doing with 36 cookies, but I'm looking forward to sharpening my baking skills. Sign-up deadline is Nov. 7th.

What do most people do when you have a friend that frequently lobs back-handed compliments? Frankly, I'm tired of trying to engage in pleasantries with this individual, but the it's not as easy as axing  communication immediately. I listen when I need to, but when I want to tell about my summer experience and Step I plans, I see this person take the avoidance route. What does this mean?

Maybe I'll think about it some more while I make dinner. I've been obsessing over this cilantro lime basmati rice that I'll pair with chorizo and black beans. It's super simple to make, and I batch these for the week.

2 cups of basmati rice, prepared as indicated on bag
1/2 bunch of chopped cilantro
Juice of one lime
Salt to taste

Stir in all the ingredients while the rice is still warm.
